Filling

KeyKeg® filling station

The KeyKeg® concept makes filling easy and anti septic. The system differs from conventional filling lines as it needs only a filling station and a palletizing unit.

The non-refillable keg is designed on the bag-in-ball principle. The pressurized PET ball houses a specially developed flexible inner bag, which contains the product.

As the wine bag is clean when it gets to the wine grower cleaning prior to filling is not necessary. The time- and space-consuming washing sequences typical of a conventional keg or wine bottle filling plant can be omitted.

Each KeyKeg® is delivered standard with cardboard outer packaging. After the seal has been removed, the KeyKeg® is positioned on the filling head.

The KeyKeg® is always filled in the inverted position to enable the wine bag to unfold correctly. The bag has a special evacuation strip to allow air to escape during the wine filling process. As the inner bag is filled, the volume of air in the pressurized ball decreases in proportion to the amount of product added.

The fully automated filling process controls purging of the inner bag, wine filling, the amount of possible additives and the creation of headspace through a PLC program. Each cycle is completed with a hot water rinse and steam sterilization to guarantee anti septic circumstances.

After filling, the KeyKeg® is sealed with a seal of choice and stacked on pallets ready for shipping.

The ECOMAT-B shows the simplicity of the filling process for the one-way non-refillable keg KeyKeg®. This semi-automatic single-station filling machine was engineered by m+f KEG-Technik and has an output of 40 to 60 KeyKegs® per hour. A fully automatic multiple-head filling unit of 100/ 400/ 600 or 1000 kegs per hour can be delivered also.
